The long awaited Queen’s Speech at the State Opening of Parliament is going on right now and I’m sure she’s just loving this one with the farce of Brexit going on in the background.
You’ve just got to love the British penchant for pomp and circumstance…the Queen being kitted out in the Robing Room in plain sight of Charles I’s death warrant on the wall to Black Rod’s trek to have the door of the Commons slammed in their face.
But my favourite part comes after Black Rod is admitted to the Commons…they will pass by the Beast of Bolsover’s spot on the Opposition benches and Dennis Skinner will certainly have his usual quip ready as the Commons are commanded to attend Her Majesty in the House of Peers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s along the lines of suggesting that as the Queen has been let out of Buck House, perhaps she could pop round to the shoppes and find a more suitable Prime Minister… 😉
Certainly you can imagine just how much fun the parade of the MPs to the Lords will be…Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn will be shoulder to shoulder. Awkward! 🙂

Though it could be taken to mean not walking the length of the Palace or more likely he’s planning on standing for Bolsover in a general election!
