From the “Continuing Saga of Lady Robin’s Manor” Dept:

The last week and a half has been rather uneventful in the nest with the days going something like this:

  • Lady Robin sits on the nest.
  • Occasionally Lady Robin leaves the nest for a bit.
  • Lady Robin returns to the nest.
  • I open the front or garage door and she gets right cross and flies away.
  • The one time I was of a mind to sit on the porch for a bit after mowing, I got the most dreadful telling off from both the Lord and Lady of the nest from the neighbour’s roof.

Today, I’m pleased to report that Lord and Lady Robin have some very hungry beaks to feed…yep, that gestating that Lady Robin was facilitating is done and there are hatchlings that I’m quite sure will drive their parents to utter distraction! The Lord and Lady seem to be taking it in turns bringing back bugs and worms to satisfy those very hungry little bellies!

We’ve got another three weeks of trying to stay out of each other’s way before the hatchlings are ready to hop a wind and start their life’s adventure.

Until then, I’ll just have to expect that checking mail, mowing the lawn, or just going somewhere will involve being told off in the most fowl language imaginable. 🙂

UPDATE: A quick dash out the door to get the mail whilst Lord Robin was away and I happened to notice some heads poking up out of the nest.

Of course, I couldn’t exactly refuse the opportunity to play with the 200-500mm f/5.6… 😉
