Day 2 – Decisions, Decisions…

Day 2 – Decisions, Decisions…

As I was leaving the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, I was confronted with a decision as to where to head next.

My original thought was to head toward the Smithsonian’s Freer Museum of Art as it was relatively close by and after three of hours of being a witness to some of the worst atrocities ever committed against human beings, I figured seeing something beautiful was just what I would need.

Well, that was the plan.

But there is this tendency for battle plans to not survive contact with the enemy and in this case, what I desperately needed to see after that visit to the Holocaust museum was not at the Freer museum but rather a fair bit further north on the other side of the Mall.

As it would turn out, I’d have just enough time if luck was on my side to get there.

Fortunately, my usual abysmal luck with the trains decided to take a bit of a holiday as I was able to literally walk onto the train at Smithsonian station and take it to L’Enfant Plaza and then had very little waiting time on the platform for the train to the Archives station.
