If you’re thinking the site looks a wee bit different today…your eyes are *NOT* deceiving you.

This site was my first shot at WordPress and it was sort of a Frankenstein’s creation between the Genesis-based theme Revolution Pro and the NextGen image gallery.

And it worked pretty well together.

The website I re-designed for the photos for the kids and the family also used NextGen (to be fair, it’s so image-heavy that it’s really stressed the heck out NextGen!) and used a theme made by the NextGen folks called Journal.

And those worked nicely together as well except for having several hundred albums and over two thousand galleries were aces at serving up pictures as part of the content but behind the scenes, there are times that updating the album thumbnail can take a couple of minutes.

But now the makers of NextGen have a new theme based on a different framework that works better with the gallery plugin and cleans up a lot of the navigation hassles of the previous design.

That’s what you see before you now on sunfox.com!

There might be some niggles here and there but by and large I’m very happy with the result. I was able to play with the new theme with some content I’d exported on a different domain of mine and worked out most of the kinks. I then exported the settings and imported them onto sunfox.com, fixed a few things here and there and it took much less time than I’d imagined.

I’m hoping that’s a harbinger of good fortune to come because williams-ohana.com is orders of magnitude larger! 🙂
