At the time that the double album “Tommy” was released in 1969, there were more than a few musical pundits who were wondering if The Who truly could top that early example of a rock opera.

Two years later on this date in 1971, we’d get an answer from Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey with the release of “Who’s Next” and to not put too fine a point on it…the answer was an emphatic “YES” shouted from the rooftops.

It’s not terribly surprising that “Who’s Next” is considered The Who’s best album and it ranks fairly highly amongst the best albums of all time.

So tonight, we celebrate The Who at their very best after we start off the evening with a couple of early tracks whilst getting the Wake rink we’ve not seen in weeks ready for the night’s action! 🙂

The Moment Game 2 Changed The Playlist…

Halfway through the third period of game 2 between the Dragons and the Gargoyles, we had a rather momentous event when Miss Eva Cruz was credited with an assist on a Dragons goal and in so doing joined her teammate Miss Sara Artman and the Gargoyle’s Miss Sarena Gisser who already had scored assists of their own earlier in the game.

Miss Kristina had a fantastic idea to celebrate the serious girl power happening on the ice and as it turned out, there was one track that was a complete no-brainer to choose to play for the rest of the stoppages in the game, complete with the correct number of girls in the title. 😉

Post-Game

As you can imagine, there was no way I wasn’t going to continue celebrating the ladies whilst finishing up the paperwork and returning the pucks to the storage cupboard (which thankfully was only a few meters away rather than the usual two rinks we’d been experiencing for the past several weeks!). 🙂
