Boston may be a rather dirty word to diehard fans of the Carolina Hurricanes (former Hartford Whalers who were stuck between the Tri-State area and Boston!) but in the world of music, there are very few rock bands that could ever match their talent.

Remember how I said picking the theme was occasionally a real hard task like last Friday's? Yeah, well tonight's theme was the exact opposite... ;)
What do Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, and Billy Joel have in common? The theme for tonight's playlist! The bit of revenge and the ballistic trajectory of some Kit Kats were a very happy bonus... :)
It started with a requested song from a member of the Wendigos of the Helios division which led to a slightly disturbing discovery...
What better way to celebrate being opposed to censorship than a playlist inspired by Styx's "Kilroy Was Here" album on the 43rd anniversary of it's release? :)
It's a golden playlist in honour of the US Women's hockey team winning gold in the Olympics in Milano!
We actually had a choice between two movies for tonight's theme. But there was really only one choice we could have made...
Requests on the hits line bring the spice to the set and one of the three requested tracks most certainly did that! :)

These tunes are for those who celebrated the Superb Owl a wee bit too much... :)
I don't get the sport played during the Superb Owl at all...I'm just all in for heading over to my mate's for some munchies and a fun time. But that doesn't mean that I can't throw a few tunes out there before the first game for those who celebrate a game where the "ball" is not actually ball-shaped and is rarely propelled by the foot...
The lyrics may be catchy and fun to sing but if a track is going to really grab my attention, the instrumentals have to be top notch! And one of the best instrumental groups out there is The Alan Parsons Project... :)

The request lines are open...Nicholas is wanting an Evanescence vibe and I was already fiddling with some track ideas that scream "girl power". Well, one good idea deserves another... :)
I genuinely couldn't believe that there wasn't a single Grateful Dead track in the library when it came time to pay tribute to the passing of Bobby Weir. This was rectified immediately... :)
Whether it's radio or playing a set as a live DJ...special requests are often what really makes the night for us! We may not be able to fulfill it immediately but rest assured that unless the song is truly hopeless, you'll be hearing it over the speakers soon enough! :)
The MLK Jr playlist looked a bit light and I was wanting some more options to play with...what I didn't plan on was just how much bigger that playlist got! :)
