Tonight’s theme comes from the pride of Sayreville NJ with Bon Jovi’s album named after the “Oil and Petrochemical State”…err, “The Garden State” that began it’s four week run atop the Billboard charts on this date in 1988!

The band’s fourth studio album was one of their most successful which is rather impressive considering that “New Jersey” followed “Slippery When Wet”, another juggernaut of an album that spent eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 200 chart.

Even more impressive was “New Jersey” putting five tracks into the top-ten singles charts which remains the record for a single hard rock/glam metal album.

Those two albums coming out in close proximity to each other and the heavy touring schedule almost destroyed the band who went their own ways after the final show in Mexico.

They would eventually get together in the Caribbean over a year later and after clearing the air managed to find their way back to the studio in Vancouver BC where “New Jersey” was recorded and would show the world a new and more mature sound from the band with “Keep The Faith”.

Game 1 Warm-Ups

Post-Game

Two roughing penalties in this game and surprisingly neither of them were to the player that seemed hell bent on running over pretty much everyone on the ice regardless of team…well, there was only one real choice amongst the Zamboni tunes…
