From the “Proof Positive the Vogons Waddle Amongst Us” Dept:

Yesterday, it was hard enough bearing witness to two huge corporations engaging in levels of bureaucratic officiousness that would make Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz absolutely giddy with joy (if proper permission had been secured for such joy and signed in triplicate and countersigned and approved…and if he actually remembered what joy was like in a non-bureaucratic sense if he’s even capable of such an intellectual leap of faith) with the goal of SUCCESSFULLY DOING EVERYTHING IN THEIR BUREAUCRATIC POWER TO PREVENT THE CUSTOMER FROM GIVING THEM MONEY TO PAY THE BILL!

But the truly hilarious thing was that the corporations in question were Time-Warner Cable and Duke Energy.

You know…two corporations that are all about EXTRACTING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS (preferably whilst said customer is held inverted by the ankles or in a more dubious position)!

I may not be a business major but I’m pretty sure that one of the top rules that most MBA’s learn at some point is that it is the height of stupidity in commerce to make things difficult when someone is wanting to give you money!
