Totally gutted for pole sitter Valtteri Bottas who effectively had the win in Sochi taken away from him to favour Lewis in the driver’s championship.
Was Toto right to hit the tactical button on his panel and make that call? Yes.
But it still sucks.
I’m with di Resta on this one…to be a fly on the wall during Merc’s debrief this evening. It should prove most interesting.
Speaking of which…Vladimir Putin indicating that he’d appreciate not being hosed down by the champagne this year as he was last year was hilarious. It was said with a smile but you could see that old school KGB menace behind the smile. Apparently Lewis could see it as well…he was quick to deny he was the guilty hoser! And as you’d expect…the presidential party was well clear of podium before the corks popped! 🙂

to P12 in first lap and eventually the race lead until pitting and finishing P5. Not bad for a 21st birthday! 🙂
