A French chap is suing Uber for 45m euro because of an alleged bug in the app that allowed his now ex-wife to discover that he was using Uber’s services to carry on with an affair.
My favourite quote in the article comes from his lawyer who should really consider doing standup comedy: “The lawyer did not comment on a report in Le Figaro newspaper that the lawsuit was worth up to €45m, saying only that his client wished to remain discreet and anonymous.”
Seriously…discreet and anonymous?!? Engaging in an act that is the height of indiscretion and using an app that can track your movements doesn’t seem to be the smartest way to accomplish either of those goals!
Instead of trying to score 45m euro in a lawsuit that is almost certainly going to get a laugh out of the judge and jury, perhaps he ought to consider himself quite fortunate that his gentleman’s sausage wasn’t floating in a jar of formaldehyde on the nightstand the morning after the affair was discovered!
