Two quotes from the eminently quotable Ambassador (and later Emperor) of the Centauri Republic came to mind whilst reading this article: the first a recognition of what we’re dealing with and the second a suggestion of how one might actually succeed in high office.

Ah, arrogance and stupidity all in the same package. How efficient of you.

The quiet ones are the ones that change the universe… The loud ones only take the credit.

I would respectfully point out to the current inmate of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that the fact that politics is an utterly nasty business and that being attacked when one is the focal point of an entire branch of our government is not only to be expected but it shouldn’t come as a surprise given how nasty the campaign to be elected actually was. As in even nastier than Hunt-Helms 1984 which up to now was the definitive gold standard for nasty campaigns!

But there is a world of difference of standing one’s ground and defending one’s principles in the face of determined opposition…and what you’re doing which is being an ill-informed and shallow bully who engages in nothing but personal attacks and refuses to show even a modicum of decency toward other human beings.

By not taking the high road and getting on with the job that you were hired to do in a PROFESSIONAL and CIVIL manner, you are showing everyone else in the world just how pathetic and weak your character is and it shouldn’t come as a surprise then that they want nothing to do with you or your policies. Being a bully isn’t a show a strength…it is a display of the worst sort of cowardice and insecurity.

You want to show the world you’re a strong leader? You’re not going to like this but you must start by shutting your pie hole and opening your ears…there is a reason humans have two ears and only one mouth as a hint as which should be used more often. Actually LISTEN and try to understand the other person’s point of view and at least respect they have a reason for believing as they do…as you have for believing the things you do. I didn’t say you had to agree with them…but at least being open to a civil conversation and understanding that you really don’t know everything and that others may well have perspective you lack.

And whilst we’re on the subject of strength of character…for goodness sake, stop all this whinging about how unfair the reality of life in the Presidency is and how unfair the politics are. All you’re doing is embarrassing yourself in the process and making real New Yorkers who are way tougher than you’ll ever be cringe every time you come off as the patzer you are.

YOU wanted this job…YOU begged the electorate to give it to you…and now you have it! Bloody well deal with it or show even more of your true colours than you already have and go back to Manhattan with your tail tucked between your legs as a complete and dismal failure.

“I don’t think that the President’s ever been someone who gets attacked and doesn’t push back,” deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Fox News. “There have been an outrageous number of personal attacks not just to him but people around him.”

“This is a President who fights fire with fire and certainly will not be bullied,” Sanders said.
