Even though Chuck Mangione passed away on the same day the musical world was rocked by Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, I can assure you that his passing was definitely noticed here at The Nerdery.
I’ve told the story of how “Feels So Good” is the definitive song that reminds me of visiting my grandparents in a city I’d eventually come to live in a few years later…a little place called Port Orange, FL.
So even though Ozzy took centre stage on the day they both left us, there was no way Chuck wasn’t going to be celebrated at the next game where I’d be offering up the tunes to the Bluetooth speaker over yonder.
I also managed to snap a couple of shots of Miss Kristina who has been quite the patient teacher in the arts of running the scoreboard and collecting the game stats so that it’s only occasionally that I completely biff that the teams switch sides during the second period leading to an arrow on my score sheet pointing to the other team. 🙂
Her jersey says “Healthy Scratch” and features a cat with claws out which I thought was soooooo adorable. 🙂
We would also learn later that “Feels So Good” is the perfect track to play during the Zamboni break as it left the ice literally at the last second of my favourite Chuck track of all time! That’s great for those times I just want to cue that track and take a bit of a break… 😉
