Sometimes I’m building a playlist of songs to choose from well before they’re likely to be used.

Such was the case for Bruce Hornsby’s most famous track “The Way It Is” which will be anchoring the playlists used for the Ironclad games that fall on Martin Luther King Jr’s holiday next month.

But I wanted to get a head-start on building holiday and special-event themed playlists for the upcoming year that I can add to through the years as other tracks come across the turntables so that they’re always fresh.

As MLK’s birthday is the first one in the upcoming year…

My father was born on Martin Luther King Jr’s actual birthday (15 January) and so it’s a Federal holiday that has an even more special meaning for me! 🙂
