It’s not often that I get to the rink to find that the Zamboni has already worked it’s magic and created a pristine ice surface that is bereft of any players skating upon it well before we get to the warm-ups prior to game 1.
Well, let’s just say I’m not inclined to miss the opportunity to have some fun and spin some twenty minutes of extra songs before warming to my theme of the night which is celebrating Billy Squier’s 76th birthday, a birthday he happens to share with my grandmother Anna Mae Williams who left us in 1998.
As I started the night with instrumentals, so I ended it with one of my favourite Rippingtons tunes whilst finishing up the game statistics paperwork and firing them off in a text message to the gent who’ll be loading them into the league’s stats tracking system.
