First game of the playoffs is in the books between the Hurricanes and Bruins and it’s a 5-1 win for the good guys and time to go grab that Lord’s Bird!

Katie had some homework and Alex was training on the track so I figured I’d take a shot at redeeming the reward at the Knightdale store which is not usually my favourite in terms of time or quality.

Will I make it through the queue in time to get back to Enloe on time?

  • 1438 – Mobile order placed via the app whilst in my driveway for the Knightdale store.
  • 1446 – Arrive in the queue well in from the street which is very unusual and come to a stop 16m from the order board.
  • 1448 – Queue seems to be moving, 7m from order board.
  • 1450 – The order taker turns up and *NAILS* the greeting on the first shot. When I complimented her on being one of the rare ones out there to give a great greeting, she puts the cherry on top with a “my pleasure”. Very nice touch, young lady! 🙂
  • 1451 – 3m to order board and the left turn, choke point is about 15m east of this turn.
  • 1452 – 1.5m to order board, queue still moving pretty decently.
  • 1453 – At the order board awaiting the left turn.
  • 1456 – Left turn completed, 5m to choke point.
  • 1458 – Arrived at choke point, approaching final left turn toward window.
  • 1501 – Lined up for the window. Mostly.
  • 1502 – At the window and food is delivered by another young lady who was rocking the perfect manners!

Sixteen minutes for Knightdale is pretty darned good. Shockingly so as I’m used to the queues being wrapped round the iHop all the way to the strip mall entrance!

So how did Knightdale fare?

  • Initial greeting: in a word…PERFECT not only from the order taker but the young lady at the window. Full marks and frankly I’m sorely tempted to award a bonus point but that would really skew the ratings so I’m going to resist the urge. Begrudgingly because these two young ladies were outstanding!
  • Order correctness: spot on for the full point.
  • Waffle fries: amount and temperature were good and thankfully the Salt SuccubusTM of White Oak isn’t slumming over in Knightdale. Less really is more and they get full marks for on-point fries.
  • Sandwich: full marks for the sandwich, nice size and great coating.

Perfect score for Knightdale this afternoon and even though the time through the queue is longer than most of the rest of the stores in the area, I didn’t mind it terribly much because the perfect greetings set the tone nicely for the visit.

Good on ya! 🙂
