Katie and I visit the Garner store on Timber Drive at US-70 to redeem our free sandwiches from the Hurricanes win in Game 2.
I’d already visited Chick Fil-A with Julia earlier in the day but this excursion is after school and a trip to Sam’s to get some materials for tacos that Katie had requested for dinner this evening.
I know, I know…tacos on Cinco de Mayo.

But she asked for them and getting her to come out and choose anything is like interrogating a prisoner of war so we take our victories where we can find them, eh? 🙂
Once more unto the breach, my friends!
- 1530 – Mobile order placed via the app whilst in Sam’s car park on South Saunders Street just south of downtown Raleigh. This one will feature two different orders!
- 1542 – Turn into the queue and make it pretty decently far to within 5m of the order board.
- 1545 – The order taker appears and nails a perfect greeting and gets a compliment for her efforts as it’s rare that the dreaded word is not part of what I first hear from them in the conga line.
- 1546 – At the order board which is the choke-point for this location on the NW corner of the building.
- 1552 – Turn the other corner and the window is in sight. The queue has seemed sluggish for a few minutes and a quick peek sees someone in the sin bin so now much less surprised at the speed of the queue.
- 1556 – At the window and delivery complete.
Eighteen minutes from beginning to end. Not particularly fast but I wasn’t in a rush so I’m not going to worry about it, either!
Garner scores, here we come!
- Initial greeting: order taker nailed the greeting perfectly for full marks!
- Order correctness: spot on for the full point.
- Waffle fries: I didn’t order any as I was going for just the sandwich to use in Alex’s school lunch for tomorrow but Katie did get a free medium waffle fries…she didn’t seem to mind them terribly much. They weren’t blazing hot but they were warm enough she wasn’t going to complain so I’ll give full marks here.
- Sandwich: The chicken in the sandwich was on the smaller end of the scale but it still peeked out from the bun so full marks.
Garner gets a perfect four out of four points! Well done! 🙂
