If you were asked to name one band that epitomises Britpop, it’s hard to imagine very many choosing to name a band other than Oasis.
On this day in 2008, their last studio album climbed to the top of the UK charts before the band would break up the following year after an acrimonious fight on tour in Paris.
The years in between were no less full of strife in the courtroom as well as behind the scenes but the Gallagher brothers would eventually get the band back together in 2023 and their shows are selling out everywhere they go and have earned themselves enshrinement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.
