For two of the teams tonight, that title is exactly what’s happening as we’re finishing up the opening week of Season XV of Ironclad that finds us running two games nearly simultaneously across the two rinks.

I found myself on the Wake rink for the first time in about forever and discovered that the mixer was having some unfortunate behaviours such as one of the output channels showing half the bars with no input and the sound to the speakers had been turned off.

In fairness, it wasn’t exactly helped by a kid from a Maryland team in town for a tournament slamming the penalty box door so hard that the mixer ended up getting a bit of a bath which didn’t help the second channel of the microphone inputs.

Fortunately, enough of the system worked that I could at least play the music but the announcements I normally make over the 1-MC were just not happening. That didn’t mean that I didn’t still commit to the bit and I’d do the announcements anyway even knowing no one on the other side of the rink had a chance of hearing them.

The show must go on.

And in this case, that show is all about my favourite tracks from John Lennon not named “Imagine”… 😉
