There is a very subtle irony to listening to the track “I’m Free” from the “Footloose” soundtrack as the overheating engine of my Traverse is about to make me neither! 🙁

I can’t really whinge too much as she has not been anywhere near the hangar queen her predecessor was but that doesn’t mean I’m looking forward to the out-of-warranty repair bill either!

But a big shout out to Raleigh Towing and Recovery to get her safely home from the Burger King on Tryon in the rubbish weather we had tonight and then later today off to garage she goes.

And then I’m going to need all the humour I can get…

UPDATE:

Second tow complete and yeah…my anirnisiaq qavvaq (“Angel of the Blue Ice”…qavvaq ice is multi-year ice in Inuktitut which is either clear or the blue colour of my Traverse) is looking to put up a monster number! 🙁

But until she’s mended…the garage will be home to Darth Tahoe which sports a lovely ride but I truly miss my throttle quadrant where I usually rest my right hand!

I remember Granddaddy’s big white Tahoe. Only way I felt safe with him driving.

He could be driving an M-1 Abrams and I’d still be nervous! 😉

Hey now that’s my favorite Granddaddy.

My observations from his co-pilot’s seat does nothing to change that perception!

Between the two foot pedal technique and general attitude towards other drivers that was in play…yes, many poos threatened to leave where they normally live when I was up front. Sadly…two much younger siblings usually ensured that was where I’d be when Aunt Judy would seek refuge in the back! 😉
