Yesterday, we celebrated a certain someone completing the hat-trick of teenaged children which meant that I could finally set up an Apple ID for her iPhone and start loading apps/music.

Between finding bugs in trying to set up an Apple ID on an IOS device (where it’d verify the phone number but then fail the phone number on validation on a later step) to fighting with iTunes to get it to recognise the MP3 files I’m trying to load…I’ve come to realise the language just doesn’t do justice to how much I absolutely HATE iTunes and how Apple thought it was making things “easy” with this complete abortion of an application.

And that’s even allowing for the fact that Windows was likely to be a much less seamless experience than on a Mac but Windows pays the bills and Mac doesn’t so I’m kind of stuck on that front.

The real irony is that as much as I find the actual iPhone and iPad exceptionally easy to use…it seems to me that iTunes was written by a completely different development group from another planet with PHBs running completely amok.

Good thing I really love my little girl…I don’t know that I’d willing go through iTunes hell for just anyone! 🙂
