The Women’s Euro 2022 tournament ended with a cracker of a fixture featuring the host nation England taking on Germany at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The match was finely poised with plenty of attacking play from both sides that would result in both sides in a 1-1 draw at full time necessitating thirty minutes of extra time where Chloe Kelly would stun the Germans in the 110th minute on a corner kick that bounced off Lucy Bronze and was easily stabbed into the net by Kelly.
The Lionesses would hold off the Germans in the final minutes with an epic display of time-wasting and dogged possession of the ball to win the match 2-1 and claim the first major trophy for an English side since the men won the 1966 World Cup.
