It’s well past time to take advantage of a rare window of opportunity to go walkabout for the next few days!
The beauty of it is whilst I know the initial direction will be to the west to drop off some paperwork with a client and the aiming point will be staying overnight near Chattanooga TN…what happens afterward is a complete mystery to me. I’ll go where the winds tell me to go!
But first things first…traditions must be respected.
And in this case, when I head west toward the Triad and there’s a meal to be had…well, there’s really only one choice!
It’s a very unassuming place…a white building embedded in a hilly curve of a highway that has four different numbers designating it that you’d hardly imagine would be the epicentre of the western NC style of BBQ.
Of course, this is the world famous Lexington BBQ and if you want the Lexington style, you really want to go to the place where it truly began.
A happy bonus was restocking the bottles of their sauce with a box of 12…the boss sauce already had me hooked but when the nice lady at the register said that I’d effectively be getting two of them free, well you don’t have to hit this BBQ fan upside the head too hard to score that deal! 🙂
