Our distinguished Secretary of Defence really needs to seriously consider his position and once again do the honourable thing and resign for the good of our soldiers and sailors and the nation’s security.
It was bad enough to be caught disclosing very sensitive if not classified information on a Signal chat where one of the participants had added the Editor-in-Chief of the Atlantic to the conversation. At least the participants other than the journalist could be reasonably presumed to have security clearances that would be sufficient for them to receive that information.
But based on the latest reporting, apparently the latest discussion of attack plans was on a Signal chat that included the Secretary’s wife and two other family members.
At least the other two work at the Pentagon and theoretically they might well have the appropriate clearances but there’s no way in hell you’re going to convince me his wife does!
That begs the question of why Pete Hegseth still has a job as any rational President would have relieved him of his duties and stripped him of his security clearances.

Oh, I think I get it now.
Instead of being horrified and then angry that his Secretary of Defence and other members of the national security team apparently didn’t learn their lesson about communicating sensitive/classified information on Signal the first time, it’s obviously because of fake news and disgruntled employees.
Are you kidding me?!?
Whilst we’re on that subject, no…everyone isn’t happy with Pete Hegseth. In fact, a growing majority of the people in this country were dubious of his appointment from the beginning and now two breakdowns in OPSEC later are rather angry that he still has a job after lower-level employees were put to the sword, so to speak, to save the Secretary’s six.
If our current President actually listened to people who aren’t sycophants or courtiers, he might well have understood he is *WAY* off base on this one when it comes to our national security.
But I wonder where he got the “fake news” and “disgruntled employees” angle from besides his customary paranoia?

I’ve got to hand it to Secretary Loose Lips Hegseth, he’s certainly an expert on the media and their propensity to take down public figures who are foolish enough to be embroiled in a second scandal when he should have resigned or been fired after the first incident.
Where was his prior job, exactly?
Weekend presenter at FOX News, that bastion of journalistic rectitude, fairness, and willingness to tell both sides of the story.
I have no doubt he’s pissed off many in the Pentagon he’s marginalised or fired but other than his own assertion that there was no classified information divulged in a chat in which his wife who has no business being in the chat or having any operational details of missions discussed in her presence ever unless she’s got clearance, blaming people who just happen to know he’s done something dangerously stupid is a glaring sign of cowardice, not leadership.
One of these days, his lack of soundness and discipline is going to get our brave men and women in harms way killed.
Their blood will be on his hands.
He was long past his sell by date the last time he pulled this kind of stupid stunt.
It’s man overboard and no one in our military or anyone else’s can ever truly trust him to keep his mouth shut and operational details confidential.
Ever wonder why most of the top jobs in Cabinet have the title “Secretary”?
It’s because they’re expected to know how to actually keep a bloody secret as opposed to how well they can type! 🙁
