Six years ago today, Eddie Van Halen left us and left behind an amazing musical legacy, not the least of which was his famous hand-built Frankenstrat guitar that married a Fender Stratocaster body with a Gibson humbucker pickup and various other parts bolted on to create that unique sound that you knew it was Eddie doing the shredding.

It wasn’t a hard call to feature the Van Halen tracks that showcased Eddie’s mad skills and the unique sound of Frankie!

Given how much of an impact he had on the American rock scene in the 1970s and 1980s, it was just as easy a call to stay in the voluminous Van Halen playlist for the music during the stoppages as well! 🙂

Game 1 Warm-Ups

Romantic By Request

One of the spectators had quickly picked up on the theme and mentioned to her husband who was playing that night that she wouldn’t mind something “romantic” as Van Halen was apparently killing her vibe.

When I asked him what she thought was romantic, he told me anything by Gloria Estefan.

As it turns out, there was only one track on the iPad that fit the bill and that’s what got played during the first and second intermission breaks.

Let’s just say that observing their meeting during the first intermission where someone was clearly claiming credit for the not-so-much Van Halen playing over the speakers, I’m thinking she was a very happy camper indeed! 🙂

Post-Game

Why not continue the romantic vibe just a bit as we’re doing the paperwork? 🙂
