From the “MCHL Season XV – Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap!” Dept:

Months earlier than the passing of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham, AC/DC lost their frontman Bon Scott in eerily similar circumstances.

However, unlike Led Zeppelin, AC/DC eventually would continue as a band in spite of their loss at the urging of Scott’s parents that he’d have wanted them to carry on and thank goodness they did as new lead singer Brian Johnson would help them complete the second best selling album of all time “Back in Black” which trails only Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in terms of certified sales.

There was one song that didn’t survive Bon Scott’s death in live performance and that track is “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)” which Johnson felt was a fitting tribute to Bon Scott and he refused to sing it in concert which has been the case ever since.

And that’s why it was the one song that didn’t make it into the set even though it was most certainly in the playlist! 🙂
